As a System Administrator at Plenty of Fish you are the consummate generalist, a versatile engineer who is broadly experienced operating a mixed infrastructure of both Microsoft and Linux systems. You’re always seeking to automate solutions and daily tasks rather than carrying out steps manually. Most importantly you’re willing to learn anything that comes your way.

So, what will you do?
    • Install, manage and troubleshoot our mixed infrastructure of Linux and Windows servers
    • Administer and troubleshoot Active Directory and Group Policy
    • Automate tasks using scripting and other advanced pipelining techniques
    • Administer automated server patch management
    • Participate in the administration and management of VMWare clusters, storage and network presentations
    • Routinely review server systems and undertake capacity planning
    • Install, manage and troubleshoot data center and office infrastructure hardware, software and networks
    • Contribute to the documentation of our environment
    • Work in an on-call rotation to support a 24x7 environment
You'll be a match for this role if you have..
    • 5+ years as a server Systems Administrator in an enterprise environment
    • 3+ years working in virtualized environments including hypervisor layer management of ESXi
    • Expert level skills in server troubleshooting, configuration and best practises
    • Advanced scripting skills in Powershell or other core scripting languages
    • Strong experience with SCCM; configuration and patch management
    • Experience with managing and troubleshooting Microsoft IIS
    • Willingness to learn new systems and vendors, as needed
It's a bonus if you have..
    • Experience working in an environment that has implemented DevOps and Agile methodologies
    • Exposure to containerization and Infrastructure-as-Code concepts
    • Experience with Docker/Kubernetes/Kafka/Ansible/Redis/PostgreSQL
    • Experience with monitoring and analysis system such as Splunk/Grafana/Loki
    • Demonstrated proficiency with a range of open source systems and tools
