The AVP, Colleague Events s is responsible for the strategic planning, execution, and evaluation of high-impact internal colleague events that reinforce the Bank's brand, culture, and client engagement objectives. This role ensures flawless event delivery across multiple business lines and regions, while upholding the Bank's standards of excellence, risk management, and cost discipline.

Job Description:
The AVP, Colleague Events s is responsible for the strategic planning, execution, and evaluation of high-impact internal colleague events that reinforce the Bank's brand, culture, and client engagement objectives. This role ensures flawless event delivery across multiple business lines and regions, while upholding the Bank's standards of excellence, risk management, and cost discipline.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Planning & Execution
- Reward Trips: Responsible for the end-to-end design and management of prestigious programs such as League of Excellence, WoW, Summit, Legends, Star, VIA, Bravo, and more.
- Lead significant leadership events for SVP+ executives, including line-of-business summits and high-impact gatherings like the IDLC.
- Deliver comprehensive event solutions encompassing proposal development, creative event design, hospitality services, and curated food and beverage menus.
- Provide on-site direction and oversight to ensure flawless execution.
- Manage all aspects of invitations, registration processes, accommodation, and travel logistics.
- Oversee a budget of $70M to maximize event impact and efficiency.
- Collaborate with business leaders and marketing partners to establish clear event objectives, define target audiences, and craft key messages that reflect corporate priorities.
- Develop robust event strategies, detailed timelines, and budgets for diverse programs such as conferences, client forums, sponsorship activations, town halls, and executive offsites.
- Lead all logistical and creative facets of event execution, including venue selection, vendor partnerships, production management, catering arrangements, travel coordination, and on-site operations.
- Supervise event design, branding, and content development to ensure a cohesive experience that consistently aligns with the Bank's visual identity and brand tone.
Stakeholder & Vendor Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for senior internal stakeholders, external agencies, and vendors.
- Negotiate contracts and manage supplier relationships to achieve high-quality outcomes and value for money.
- Collaborate closely with CAPA, Compliance, Risk, Legal, and Procurement to ensure adherence to policy, regulatory, and reputational standards.
Financial Oversight
- Prepare and manage detailed event budgets, forecasts, and post-event reconciliations.
- Ensure transparent financial reporting and identify cost efficiencies without compromising quality or brand standards.
Risk & Compliance
- Maintain full compliance with internal event governance policies, expense controls, and vendor risk frameworks.
- Anticipate and mitigate operational and reputational risks associated with event delivery.
- Ensure data privacy, health and safety, and accessibility considerations are embedded in all planning.
Measurement & Continuous Improvement
- Conduct post-event evaluations, capturing metrics on attendee satisfaction, engagement, and ROI.
- Leverage data and feedback to recommend enhancements for future events and share best practices across teams.
- Stay current on trends, technologies, and sustainability practices to drive innovation and efficiency.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Event Management, Business, or related field.
- 7+ years of progressive experience in event planning, including substantial experience working with external industry partners, venues, agencies, and suppliers.
- Strong network of city-level and industry connections (e.g., hotels, convention centres, production houses, caterers, AV partners, destination marketing organizations) with a proven ability to leverage these relationships for high-quality, cost-effective event delivery.
- Demonstrated success planning executive-level and client-facing events in a global, matrixed or financial services environment.
- High proficiency in vendor negotiation, contract management, and budget oversight.
- Knowledge of modern event technologies, registration systems, and virtual/hybrid platforms.
- Professional certifications such as CMP, CEM, or equivalent are an asset.
