KPMG is looking for a highly motivated and passionate Cloud Solution Architect to drive high priority initiatives on Microsoft Azure platform. In this role, you will be responsible for understanding challenges related to application modernization and provide cloud native architecture and design solutions that are secure, reliable, scalable, and highly available.

This role would also assist the current Tax application team with applications deployments and give recommendations on how to move from IaaS to PaaS services. To be successful in this role you should have considerable experience architecting and implementing solution designs predominantly using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) on Azure, understand and be a practitioner of DevSecOps, be an excellent communicator, and have a get the job done attitude and mindset.

What you will do
  • Responsible for architecting next-generation, cloud-native products, and applications
  • Collaborate with KPMG Global OnePlatform architects, Canadian Architecture, Operations and Security teams to design, deploy and maintain cloud solutions for KPMG Canada
  • Collaborate with internal Tax application team as well as OnePlatform Tax team to implement, support, manage KPMG Tax suite of applications (IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS). Provide guidance and input into the application from an infrastructure perspective to leverage cloud native services
  • Collaborate with technical teams on defining cloud architectural standards and best practices, providing consistent recommendations and oversight to team members
  • Understand KPMG's digital strategy, cloud platform capabilities, IT and business priorities and success measures to design implementation architectures and solutions
  • Ensure that solution exhibits high levels of performance, security, scalability, maintainability, appropriate reusability, and reliability upon deployment
  • Develop deep relationships with key customer IT decision makers, who drive long-term Cloud adoption within the firm to enable them to be Cloud advocates
What you bring to the role
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, related STEM field or work experience
  • 3+ years proven experience in architecting solutions on major cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
  • Microsoft Certified (must have): Azure Solutions Architect Expert
  • Experience with transforming applications based on IaaS solutions to PaaS services and designing and configuring secure and scalable cloud platforms on Microsoft Azure, including account structure, security and compliance, connectivity, shared services etc.
  • Knowledge of Cloud Native Architecture and principles and Infrastructure as a code
  • Experience Architecting including implementation and maintenance knowledge of Azure PaaS components Databricks, Data factory, Synapse, Azure SQL, AI\\ML, advance analytics, and Kubernetes service
  • Knowledge of and experience in API and Webhook development using PowerShell, Python, Node.js, Ruby, and Shell Scripting languages.
  • Knowledge of CI /CD Systems, such as Azure DevOps server and Azure DevOps services and Github
  • Experience in Cloud automation using, Azure CLI, ARM & Terraform to enable Infrastructure as a Code, AWS CLI, Cloud formation, Ansible, etc
  • Experience and knowledge of Cloud Operating Systems including OpenStack, OpenShift, Windows, Linux and vSphere
  • Proven track record in system integration and design and setup of Infrastructure as a service and Platform as a service deployment
  • Ability to participate in fast-paced DevSecOps and System Engineering teams within Scrum Agile processes
  • Experience with AI agents, including designing, implementing, and optimizing agent-based solutions to support automation, decision-making, and business process improvement
  • Knowledge of Model Context Protocol (MCP) and its application in enabling secure, context-aware communication between AI systems, enterprise platforms, and data sources
  • Ability to align AI agent and MCP capabilities with enterprise governance, scalability, and operational requirements in complex technology environments
This position requires written and oral fluency in English. The successful candidate will be required to support or collaborate with English-speaking colleagues or stakeholders nationally in our English speaking provinces while at KPMG.

KPMG BC Region Pay Range Information
The expected base salary range for this position is $104,400 to $154,400 and may be eligible for bonus awards. The determination of an applicant's base salary within this range is based on the individual's location, skills & competencies, and unique qualifications. In addition, KPMG offers a comprehensive and competitive Total Rewards program.

KPMG Ontario Region Pay Range Information
The expected base salary range for this position is $104,400 to $ 154,400 and may be eligible for bonus awards. The determination of an applicant's base salary within this range is based on the individual's location, skills & competencies, and unique qualifications. In addition, KPMG offers a comprehensive and competitive Total Rewards program.
