Global Transaction Banking ("GTB") is comprised of three business lines: Treasury Solutions Corporate Cash Management, Treasury Solutions Financial Institutions, and Trade & Working Capital. Support functions include: Credit Structuring, Product Strategy and Innovation, Business Intelligence and Business Risk / Control.
GTB is a key growth business within TDS offering innovative solutions and treasury advisory services on large and complex liquidity, payments, and trade needs. Over the last decade, we have seen unprecedented levels of innovation within our industry, which GTB continually adapts to meet our client's needs. GTB is highly integrated within TDS and TD Bank Financial Group and works in close partnership with Risk, Operations, Legal, and Treasury and Balance Sheet Management.
Client Solutions ("CS") provides bespoke subject matter expertise and advisory to the origination and client management teams across all GTB business lines. CS acts as the vital link between GTB and partners across TD Enterprise to enable the accelerated growth of the business and an optimal experience for our clients.

We seek a highly motivating and influential business, change and people leader with proven track record of managing a diverse spectrum of cross-functional c and strategic program/deliverables in support of the overall business. We are looking for a highly motivated and inspiring leader with a deep intellectual curiosity, a passion for transaction banking, technology and outstanding interpersonal skills/EQ.
The nature of this role in Client Solutions is to support the origination and client management team's mandates to increase total clients, as well as revenue and profitability across the entire portfolio. The individual must demonstrate their leadership capabilities to promote and enable the businesses. Client Solutions operate in an often ambiguous environment and requires a self-starting, efficient person who works extremely well in a team, can manage multiple competing priorities and projects at the same time, and thrives in a fast-paced, intense, exciting environment.
The Director, Client Solutions is expected to be an enabled, independent problem solver for clients. The Director routinely manages complex client problems/initiatives/projects requiring the marshalling of resources from across GTB and TDBG. The ambition to develop progressively superior leadership skills, both laterally and vertically, is essential.
This position is based in Toronto and may require travel to build and fulfill Client Solutions mandates globally to support all regions.

The Director, Client Solutions, GTB will/is:
- Understand, deliver and advocate on the overall TDS client origination strategy, particularly that of Corporate and Investment Banking.
- Advisory for GTB Origination and Client Management leaders and teams, on strategic solutions, transformation management, business architecture and critical business decisions.
- Enable complex onboardings and de-escalate client and internal escalations.
- Representation and counsel for new product and partner initiatives that impact GTB clients.
- Relationship management with TDBG and external supporting partners/vendors to drive optimum experiences and results.
- Spearhead process innovation and conceive improvement opportunities to further optimize business revenue and reduce costs.
- Orchestrate strategic changes and commit to successful delivery of product and regulatory changes that would impact the business, client, and employee experience.
- Marshall governance and control requirements of the businesses and from TD Audit, regulators, risk management, finance etc.
- Support client origination efforts, including annual client reviews, proposals and RFPs, as required.
- Design and lead the delivery of various training and conduct escalation processes.
- Direct and effectively narrate value-added business recommendations, influence & implement sound & superior business decisions/solutions based on accumulating analytics and due diligence intelligence.
- Act as an expert on Treasury, Regulatory & Finance themes to portray TD and GTB as thought leaders to our clients and internal partners.
- Superior communication and conflict resolution abilities to assist with all client and stakeholders' escalations.
- Motivate, advocate and enable a results-oriented culture within GTB.
- Mentor, guide and coach junior members of the GTB team to develop.
- Plan and attend unique client industry and social events.
- Attend & contribute to industry relevant Treasury and Finance conferences to advocate TD's Brand.
Qualifications / Skills / Experience:
- Undergraduate degree or MBA with 10+ years of industry relevant experience in the financial services sector with an emphasis on Global Transaction Banking including Cash Management, Correspondent Banking, and Trade Finance & Working Capital.
- Professional external designation such as Certified Treasury Professional (CTP)/CertICM/Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA)/Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) preferred.
- Demonstrated success in a leadership role focusing on a large Corporate and Financial Institution client base.
- Strong leadership, influencing, negotiation, and communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Positive leader that is results-oriented with ability to manage through uncertain situations in a dynamic work environment.
- Change leader that is influential in transformation and ambiguous environments.
- An interest in technology, particularly FinTech, and a consciousness of its impact on the business.
