Job Description
5-month contract for an Instructional Designer focused on delivering retail learning and development initiatives.
- 5-month contract role.
- Retail learning and development program.
- Fully remote work across Canada with a well-respected organization.
Due to investment in people and organic growth, our client is looking to add an Instructional Designer to their team for a 5-month contract. You will be the sole Instructional Designer on the team focused on content creation for cross-functional retail training rollouts. You’ll design learning experiences and materials, primarily InDesign and deck-based content. You’ll also collaborate with program delivery partners to create engaging learning journeys and outcomes. This role is distinct from system implementation-focused instructional design, in this role you'll concentrate on learning experience design and content creation using instructional design models and adult learning principles. This is a great chance to join a growing organization with a strong focus on learning and development.
Who:This client is a very recognizable Vancouver brand focused on inclusivity in the outdoor environment. They are focused on sustainability, connection and are proud to call the North Shore home. They have office space on the North Shore, but this role can be completed fully remote, anywhere in Canada.
You:You will bring the following education, skills and experience to the role:
- 3+ years of corporate training and instructional design experience in the retail industry, with strong preference for candidates who understand store environment constraints (e.g., 20-minute learning windows) and have natural career progression from stores to training delivery.
- Proven proficiency creating learning content using InDesign, PowerPoint, or similar creative design platforms, with portfolio samples demonstrating deck-based learning materials, facilitator guides for staff meetings/huddles, and learning journey design (content creation focus, not training delivery).
- End-to-end instructional design experience using adult learning principles to build learning outcomes and experiences for retail audiences across varied programs.
Compensation:
This role pays between $50-55 per hour.
Next Steps:If the sound of this opportunity excites you, and you’re confident that it’s a good fit for your experience and career goals, then we’d love to hear from you! Please send your updated resume to us by applying to this posting and one of our awesome team of recruiters will be in touch.
