Job Description:
Accountable for building, maintaining and evolving the culture and community of Engineers and is responsible for coaching on knowledge, skills and performance, building and evolving their capabilities, and advising engineers on their work to ensure solutions meet business needs and aligned with technology strategies and emerging industry standards; This includes planning, evaluating, recommending, designing, operationalizing, and supporting solutions in compliance with enterprise and industry standards.

Join the Onboarding & Compliance Product Group in the Business Banking Platform as a hands-on technical leader, driving modernization, technology delivery and innovation through advanced engineering practices.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership & Engineering Excellence
- Guide teams through the full software development lifecycle, from initial design and architecture to hands-on implementation, support, and continuous optimization.
- Serve as a seasoned developer and technical lead, with strong experience designing, building, and deploying solutions using Java, Spring, Spring boot, Hibernate, Webflux and Angular technologies.
- Design and implement robust RESTful APIs and microservices to integrate different applications.
- Deploy solutions in Microsoft Azure and work with infrastructure engineering to ensure resiliency and maintainability.
- Take on responsibilities as a Technical Asset Owner as familiarity with applications increases
Developer Coaching & Team Growth
- Mentor and coach junior developers, fostering technical skill development and best practices in cloud engineering, database structures, application services, and API design.
- Build and retain a high-performing, diverse engineering team, modeling inclusive leadership and supporting ongoing learning and career growth.
Strategic Vision & Modernization
- Champion the adoption of modern engineering tools, methodologies, and automation across application, platform, and infrastructure domains.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, AI tools, proactively identifying innovative solutions to strengthen platform domains
Collaboration & Influence
- Partner with cross-functional teams (Cloud, ITS, Business System Analysts, Architecture, Business, Quality Engineering) and external vendors to deliver integrated, enterprise-grade solutions
- Engage stakeholders to validate and approve key technical decisions.
Product Increment Delivery & Operations
- Oversee planning, resource management, and milestone delivery, ensuring solutions are delivered on time and within budget.
- Troubleshoot production issues and identify root cause fixes
Continuous Improvement & Governance
- Contribute to process, product, and organizational improvements, anticipating business and regulatory issues.
- Interact with governance, audit, risk and control groups to provide subject matter expertise on engineering technology and tools.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- 7+ years of hands-on development experience, including building cloud-native solutions, experience with Java, and frameworks like Spring, Spring boot, Hibernate, Webflux.
- Proven expertise with Angular, REST APIs, SQL, Azure and Confluent Kafka.
- Strong academic background in computer science, engineering, or related field.
- Experience in leading technology teams of 5+ people
- Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form and bridge the gap between business users and their technical requirements.
- Experience developing multi-threaded applications and developing Micro Services using modern technology stack.
- Experience with development tools and frameworks such as Maven, Jenkins, Git, Nexus and CI/CD pipelines.
- A passion for simplifying and automating work, for making things better, for being efficient and helping others.
- Working knowledge of Agile methodology is an asset
- High degree of multitasking and/or prioritization may be required.
