Job Description:

Canada Fraud Management ("CFM") is an enterprise-level team within the Financial Crimes Management, Protect Platform, Platforms and Technology pillar for the TD Bank Group, providing Canadian-based fraud first line of defense and protection coverage for TD customers, shareholders, and employees. CFM includes Performance Management and Partner Integration teams that: lead TD Canada's enterprise-wide fraud strategy (via rules-based tactics); manage interactions with key business partners regarding fraud loss performance; identify key risks and solutions to address vulnerabilities in fraud coverage; and conduct interactions, oversight and collaboration between Fraud, Canadian Product leaders / teams whose businesses experience fraud and other control functions within the Bank. CFM also runs an end-to-end Fraud Operations monitoring and management team dedicated primarily to fraud detection and alert management, managing and processing Canadian TD customer fraud and non-fraud claims, as well as a Customer, Colleague & Strategic Initiatives function.

Job Description :

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Business Insights and Analysis, Partner Integration, CFM, the Manager, Partner Integration provides value-added support to effectively and efficiently articulate CFM's holistic business results and fraud loss performance stories - including our value as a business within TD, holding ourselves accountable to our performance objectives and providing timely updates about progress to relevant stakeholders. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proven ability to communicate quantitative/qualitative information and key messages in a clear and compelling way (storyboarding with numbers and illustrative design) that is flexible to suit different audiences (from executive to business-line level). The role works collaboratively with CAN Fraud Partner Integration/Performance Management/Operations team colleagues and other key stakeholders e.g., risk and control, finance partners.

Key accountabilities include:
  • Managing and producing all of CFM's, as well as some North American (Canada & the U.S.), existing risk & governance submissions - which includes commentary/context on fraud loss performance along with risks/threats and loss mitigation tactics; maintenance of key loss and performance indicators, ratings and thresholds; preparing appropriate monthly/quarterly/semi-annual/annual/ad hoc presentations and leading socialization of the materials with the relevant Fraud / Risk & Governance constituents as required.
  • Managing, producing and delivering all of CFM's value-added deliverables requested by the Financial Crimes Management executive suite, including but not limited to: weekly SET updates and commentaries; monthly business review content; top fraud loss drivers outlining root causes/vulnerabilities, current mitigation efforts and future proofing activities still needed; productivity and other operational reviews of expense-saving opportunities; review and evaluation of potential technology investments for CFM and determining/evaluating Return On Investments; bottoms-up modelling for fraud loss forecasting; data and metric provisioning for ongoing and future Financial Crimes Management reporting and tracking needs.
  • To successfully execute on the mandate of this role, candidates must:
    • Provide data-driven storytelling explaining contextual growth in fraud landscape, loss / financial / operational / business performance and effectiveness for Canadian (and as applicable, North American) Fraud - for consumption by the Protect Platform executives and/or inclusion in senior-level Product and/or Governance audience presentations through presentation decks, dashboards, data visualizations with fulsome, sufficient narratives.
    • Be comfortable using various tools (PowerPoint, Excel, Tableau, Power BI, Confluence, other) as warranted/practical that enables end-to-end CFM informational content and maintains processes that blend multiple data sources from existing data infrastructure, localized data marts and other sources.
    • Initiate and own the work effort to sustain, perform & document consistent quality assurance reviews to validate the quality, completeness, accuracy and integrity of the data and calculations included in the team's BI and reporting deliverables, ensuring we follow necessary audit/data governance requirements and best practices.
    • Understand Fraud business operations, drivers, definitions, taxonomy and metrics along financial, demographic, customer, geographic and product-based lines for Canada to interpret noteworthy results and communicate the what/why/so-what/now-what implications of those results.
    • Maintain comprehensive inventory of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) covering primarily Canada, provide consultative thought, research and analytical support to continuously propose and recommend better and/or improved Fraud Prevent/Detect/Respond metrics and measures for consideration.
    • Become the CFM subject matter expert for sourcing industry fraud benchmark data for both Canada and the U.S. - proactively identifying and communicating industry trends and scoping out new benchmark opportunities.
    • Maintain & regularly review and update documentation for assigned processes.
  • Continuously enhancing own knowledge / expertise in assigned areas, growing knowledge of Fraud and Cyber Security matters, keep current on both technical and functional knowledge (i.e., emerging trends, reporting and BI tools, visualization techniques, platforms and technologies).
  • Contribute to a positive work environment which fosters ongoing teamwork. Build and maintain positive working relationships with internal & external business partners by leveraging established engagement models. Participate in cross-training exercises as needed to support the team's succession planning.

EXPERIENCE AND / OR EDUCATION
  • University/College education. Focus on Finance, Commerce, Business, Statistics, Mathematics, Business Analytics considered an asset - has or is working towards a designation.
  • Ideal candidate should have 6+ years of experience in business performance management, reporting, insights & analysis development; prior experience working in Fraud/Risk functions considered an asset.
  • Skilled oral and written communicator, comfortable presenting with demonstrated ability to digest complex information and summarize it in a clear, concise fashion (for executive-level consumption).
  • Very strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (i.e., Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Word). Results-focused individual with an ability to influence decisions using data, leveraging business casing & business analysis skills.
  • Strong analytically-anchored thinker - proven ability to understand and proactively identify key risks and issues, demonstrates strong critical reasoning, able to effectively assess costs and benefits of initiatives, recommends proposals and solutions, challenges whether status quo/calculated results are rational or require additional justification.
  • Energetic, enthusiastic, pro-active self-starter - willing to "roll up the sleeves" to deliver results in the short-term while building for the long-term; agile, adaptable, "can-do" attitude, high degree of responsiveness and initiative.
  • Comfortability and proficiency in using business intelligence, analytics and/or data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Alteryx, etc.) - exposure to programming and data environments (e.g., SQL, VBA, SAS, Hadoop, R, Python, etc.) considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated relationship building skills - strong collaborator who successfully engages colleagues and senior management from key stakeholders and support partners in a matrix environment, makes things happen through using positive influence.
  • Robust organizational skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple deadlines and priorities, with a proven track record of executing with excellence and making an impact.
