Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Mobile Testing Lead to oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of high-quality mobile application testing across iOS and Android platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in mobile automation (Appium or similar), manual testing, API validation, and QA leadership. This role requires strategic thinking, hands-on testing capability, and team coordination to ensure robust and scalable mobile quality processes.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

Lead, mentor, and guide a team of mobile QA engineers (manual and automation).

Allocate tasks, review test deliverables, and ensure timely completion of testing activities.

Conduct regular knowledge-sharing, code reviews, and capability development sessions.

Act as a quality advocate and drive best QA practices within the team.

Mobile Testing Strategy & Planning

Define end-to-end mobile testing strategy covering functional, automation, performance, compatibility, and regression testing.

Develop comprehensive test plans, test scenarios, and test estimations for mobile releases.

Identify testing scope, risks, dependencies, and mitigation strategies.

Evaluate and select appropriate tools, frameworks, and devices for testing.

Mobile Automation Leadership

Design and maintain a scalable Appium automation framework using Java.

Implement reusable libraries, POM, and CI/CD integration.

Improve automation coverage and ensure automated tests are reliable and maintainable.

Strategically plan automation for new features, regression suites.

4. Hands-On Mobile Testing (iOS & Android)

Perform advanced functional testing

5. Defect Tracking & Quality Processes

Identify defects, reproduce issues, and log bugs in tracking tools (Jira and JTMF).

Work closely with developers, product owners, and business analysts to resolve issues.

Participate in sprint planning, refinement, and daily stand-ups as part of Agile/Scrum teams.

Collaborate with L3 team, Perf team and PEN testing if needed

Required Skills:

Technical Skills:

Strong hands-on experience in Appium (Android & iOS) and Selenium.

Proficient in mobile debugging tools such as ADB, XCode, Android Studio, and iMazing.

Expertise in writing automation scripts using Java (Java 8 and above preferred).

Experience in automation script development using BDD frameworks like Cucumber and Gherkin.

Strong understanding of API testing (REST) using tools like Postman or RestAssured.

Proficient in Java, JUnit, TestNG, and Page Object Model (POM).

Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for automation integration.

BS degree in Computer Science or related Engineering discipline; or equivalent practical experience

3-5 years of relevant experience

Tools
