The Opportunity
WSP is seeking an accomplished and visionary Senior Civil Project Engineer - Aviation to join our Transportation Systems business line. This is a leadership role offering the chance to shape some of Canada's most significant airport infrastructure projects-driving innovation and excellence in the planning, design, and delivery of airside and landside facilities.
As a Senior Project Engineer, you will lead multidisciplinary teams and provide strategic direction across complex projects, including runways, taxiways, aprons, airfield lighting, de-icing facilities, and more. You'll influence every stage of project development-from concept through construction-while mentoring junior engineers and ensuring technical rigor, client satisfaction, and operational efficiency.

Compensation:
Salary range (in British Columbia): $96,200 - $132,200
The final salary awarded for this role may vary from the above range based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs. What you can expect to do here:
- Lead and oversee conceptual, functional, and detailed design phases for major airport infrastructure projects.
- Provide technical leadership and ensure compliance with regulatory standards (TP312, ICAO, FAA).
- Manage project delivery including scope, budget, schedule, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Mentor and develop junior engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and collaboration.
- Engage with senior stakeholders and clients to build strong relationships and deliver strategic solutions.
- Drive innovation in design methodologies, sustainability practices, and digital tools.
- Champion quality assurance and continuous improvement across all deliverables.
- Contribute to business development, including proposal leadership and client presentations.
- Represent WSP at industry forums and maintain thought leadership in aviation engineering.
What you'll bring to WSP:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario or eligible for registration.
- 10+ years of progressive engineering experience, with a strong focus on aviation infrastructure.
- Proven track record in leading complex, multi-disciplinary projects.
- Expertise in TP312 5th Edition and familiarity with ICAO/FAA standards.
- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and project management tools.
- Strong business acumen and ability to influence strategic decisions.
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Willingness to travel for client and project needs.
- Commitment to innovation, sustainability, and professional excellence.
