Compensation
Salary range (in British Columbia): $99,788 - 121,963.
The final salary awarded for this role may vary from the above range based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs. As a Senior Groundwater Modeller, you'll collaborate with a close-knit team of technical experts and advisors to shape the future of sustainable water systems across industries.
Your Impact
- Lead groundwater modelling and hydrogeology projects that support environmental assessments, mine water management, and infrastructure development.
- Apply advanced modelling tools (FEFLOW, HydroGeoSphere, MODFLOW) to simulate groundwater flow and contaminant transport.
- Deliver technical insights that guide decision-making for clients in mining, oil & gas, aggregates, and other sectors.
- Mentor junior staff and foster a collaborative, safety-first culture across multidisciplinary teams.
- Contribute to business development through proposal writing and client engagement.
The Skills That Set You Apart
- MSc or PhD in Geology, Environmental Sciences, Civil, Geological or Environmental Engineering, or a related analytical discipline (e.g., physics, applied mathematics).
- 8+ years of applied experience in groundwater modelling and hydrogeology.
- Proficiency in numerical modelling software (FEFLOW, HydroGeoSphere, MODFLOW, MIKE SHE) and GIS tools (ArcGIS, Leapfrog, ParaView).
- Experience with mining-related hydrogeological challenges such as aquifer depressurization, dewatering, and mine closure.
- Programming skills in Python and exposure to AI/machine learning applications in environmental modelling are assets.
