Job Description:

The Senior Business Systems Analyst - Treasury Technology is a hands-on subject matter expert responsible for designing, implementing, and continuously enhancing Treasury and ALM solutions within the Treasury Technology team.

This role requires a blend of analytical and technical expertise, including intimate knowledge of systems and frameworks such as APIs, connection points, service layers, data stores, cloud technology, and scalable architectures, to translate complex balance sheet management business rules into effective technology solutions.

The analyst oversees data management processes and collaborates closely with Business Analysts, technical partners, business stakeholders, and POD members in an agile delivery model.

CUSTOMER
  • Analyze and reconcile large datasets to support investigations, business requirements, decisions, and solution design.
  • Collaborate with business lines to analyze current state and gather, analyze, and document requirements related to ALM, liquidity management, funds transfer pricing, and interest rate risk.
  • Lead requirements workshops and create diagrams and artifacts in the format best suited to the situation, including data flow diagrams, process models, context diagrams, integration views, and message mapping documents.
  • Translate complex Treasury and balance sheet management business rules into detailed functional and non-functional technology requirements across APIs, connection points, service layers, data stores, and cloud-based platforms.
  • Own and manage traceability of requirements through design, development, testing, and deployment to ensure solutions align with business objectives.
  • Assist in testing efforts through scenario definition, defect triage, and end-to-end requirements traceability.
  • Implement QRM platform capabilities by understanding Treasury pillar objectives and ensuring solutions align with business needs and outcomes.
  • Support implementation of QRM-related initiatives and apply deep product understanding to solve complex business challenges.
  • Author user stories and acceptance criteria in JIRA and Confluence, and leverage strong SQL knowledge to analyze large datasets, investigate issues, validate requirements, and support data-driven solutioning.

SHAREHOLDER
  • •Adhere to agile delivery practices, technology standards, governance processes, and requirements management controls while escalating issues as needed.
  • Develop and maintain data lineage, data catalogs, and control documentation to promote transparency, compliance, and audit readiness.
  • Create and maintain data, process, system, and integration flows using Visio, Confluence, and similar tools, selecting the diagramming approach that best depicts the situation at hand for technical and business audiences.
  • Partner with business and technology stakeholders to support change management, operational readiness, and successful delivery of Treasury technology initiatives.
  • Support implementation, post-implementation validation, and continuous enhancement of Treasury and ALM solutions.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on Treasury, ALM, liquidity, forecasting, and QRM capabilities to guide project outcomes and vendor platform alignment.
  • Maintain strong stakeholder communication and disciplined documentation practices in support of auditability, compliance, and business value delivery.

EMPLOYEE / TEAM
  • Work closely with BAs, technical partners, business stakeholders, and POD members as an active contributor in an agile delivery model.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in Treasury Technology, data analysis, and requirements management to support solution delivery and team capability building.
  • Continuously enhance knowledge of QRM, ALM, liquidity management, stress testing, forecasting, and related Treasury technology domains.
  • Contribute to agile ceremonies, backlog refinement, and iterative delivery planning while supporting personal and team development.
  • Keep stakeholders informed on project status, requirements decisions, testing outcomes, and delivery risks across Treasury initiatives.
  • Promote best practices in requirements documentation, data governance, testing support, and process modeling through collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to enable delivery of scalable Treasury technology solutions.
  • Contribute to a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing team environment that supports delivery excellence.
  • Represent Treasury Technology with professionalism and credibility in interactions with business, delivery, and governance partners.

BREADTH & DEPTH:
  • Strong expertise in analyzing and reconciling large datasets, requirements analysis, and solution design within Treasury Technology environments.
  • Intimate knowledge of systems and frameworks, including APIs, connection points, service layers, data stores, cloud technology, and integration patterns, with the ability to assess solution design at scale.
  • Ability to diagram in different ways to clearly represent processes, data movement, system interactions, service boundaries, and integration scenarios based on the situation and audience.
  • Proven ability to translate business rules into technology requirements and maintain traceability from design through implementation and testing.
  • Ability to lead high-impact Treasury and QRM initiatives supporting strategic business and regulatory priorities.
  • Strong SQL knowledge and experience analyzing large datasets to investigate issues, reconcile data, validate business rules, and support requirements and solution decisions.
  • Experience maintaining data lineage, governance artifacts, process documentation, and audit-ready controls.
  • Works independently as a senior analyst while partnering effectively across business, technology, and delivery teams.
  • Preferred profile includes experience with QRM in a leading Canadian bank and strong business knowledge across Treasury domains.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence outcomes across agile PODs and partner teams.

EXPERIENCE AND / OR EDUCATION
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, finance, or a related field required.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience implementing a Treasury platform as an ALM, liquidity management, stress testing, or forecasting tool, including consulting, deployment, implementation, and support.
  • 5+ years of experience working in Agile delivery; advanced credentials such as FRM, CFA, M.Fin, or MBA are considered an asset.
