Position: Site Security Supervisor
Site: Greater Niagara General Hospital
Hours: Monday to Friday (0800-1600 hrs)
Payrate: $28.51/hr. - $32.58/hr. "based on levelling system"
Averaging Agreement: Overtime is ESA

Key Responsibilities:
• Provides leadership, direction, and ongoing coaching and training.
• Supervise day-to-day security operations, ensuring all staff perform their duties in accordance with hospital protocols and standards.
• Assume full responsibility for the security and safety of the hospital premises during assigned shifts.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for hospital administration, security personnel, and emergency services during your shift.
• Promptly communicate any incidents, concerns, or operational issues to the Client and Operations Manager.
• Ensure security personnel are stationed appropriately and that all post orders, patrols, and access control procedures are followed.
• Monitor compliance with hospital policies, safety regulations, and relevant legislation (e.g., Trespass to Property Act, Mental Health Act.).
• Lead or assist with shift briefings and provide updates to on-duty staff regarding site-specific concerns or changes.
• Respond to and manage incidents including patient disturbances, unauthorized access, medical emergencies, and fire alarms.
• Conduct regular patrols of hospital facilities, including emergency departments, parking areas, and restricted zones, to maintain a safe and secure environment.
• Oversee incident reporting, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely submission of all documentation.
• Monitor CCTV and access control systems, responding to any suspicious or unauthorized activity.
• Provide coaching and support to security staff, promoting professionalism, empathy, and a patient-centered approach.
• Assist with Fire & Life Safety inspections, alarm testing, and emergency evacuation drills in coordination with hospital safety teams.
• Enforce access control policies and assist with crowd management during high-traffic periods or special events.
• Maintain a calm, professional, and approachable demeanor when interacting with patients, visitors, and staff.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by hospital management or the security operations team.
Qualifications:
• Minimum 2 years of Team Lead experience in a healthcare security environment.
• Post-secondary education in a law enforcement or security-related program (e.g., Police Foundations).
• Technical proficiency with security software systems, including Perspective.
• Experience in labor relations, including disciplinary procedures.
• Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal) to liaise with hospital personnel, emergency services, and external partners.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a strategic mindset.
• Ability to manage conflicting priorities, stakeholders, and deadlines independently.
• Demonstrated punctuality, reliability, tact, and diplomacy.
• A Valid Ontario Security Guard License
• Valid First Aid and CPR Level C Certification
• Immunization Record (measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, and TB skin tests 1 and 2)
• Flexible work schedule, including on-call availability.
• Willingness to travel to multiple hospital sites for staff interviews, evaluations, and performance reviews.
• Legally authorized to work in Canada
• Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UoF) and Management of Aggressive Behaviour (MOAB)

• Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's UoF/MOAB pre-employment certification training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
• Please be aware: The UoF/MOAB pre-employment certification training is not paid as it is a pre-requisite, however Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training with a 6 month commitment to the position/availability
